Sirius grins, and stalks toward Shimmer. He lunges as though he is going to pounce her directly from the front, but then suddenly shifts and comes at her left side.

Shimmer sidesteps right, catches Sirius' tail and freezes one of his hind paws to the ground. "Rule 1. Never rush a powerful elemental."

She picks up his other hind paw and uses his tail to tickle his arch.

Sirius laughs as he tries to pull his hindpaw free. But at the same time, he leans his weight into Shimmer, trying to tip her over onto her side.

Still laughing from the tickling, Sirius brings up his forepaws and shoves them into the hollows under Shimmer's forelegs, and tickles her vigorously there.

Shimmer starts laughing and releases his paw and tail to protect her underarms. Her flailing wings brush his ribs.

Shimmer finds her forelegs trapped by his wings but continues to tickle his wing joints.

Sirius howls with laughter, and starts pulling his body backwards away from her, pulling her paws along with him and forcing her forelegs to straighten out in front of her as she keeps tickling.

When her forelegs are stretched as far as they can go, he suddenly snaps his wings open and releases her claws, hoping to take her by surprise.

Sirius quickly pounces on top of her, trapping her tail and back legs and pinning them to the ground.

He traps them, and her legs, even more securely. "Sorry, not gonna work!" he giggles.

He reaches down and begins to draw his clawtip in small circles over the bottom of her right hind foot.

Sirius brings both foreclaws into play, mercilessly tickling Shimmer's back feet.

"I'll be glad to stop," he purrs. "All you need to do is submit."

"Never." She reaches her forelegs back and starts feeling for Sirius' hind paws.

Sirius giggles and moves his hindpaws a bit to make it harder for them to reach.

"Never is a long time when someone is tickling your paws," he reminds her, and continues to tickle all over her trapped paws.

Shimmer keeps laughing, but she notices that her bag is just within reach. She manages to grab a jar of slime.

Sirius sees Shimmer reaching for the slime, and tries to distract her by working his claws in between her toes.
